Description
The Cottages are three dwellings that may have originally been one house, likely built in the mid-18th century with some alterations. They are now part of a row of buildings. The cottages are constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and feature a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and has one window. The boarded doors have different glazed panels and are sheltered by small open wooden porches. The windows are three-light Yorkshire sashes, all with extended keyed lintels and stone cills. The roof has end copings and two stepped-and-corniced ridge stacks. Number 1 has a one-storey rear wing that is at least as old as the main house. The pent extensions at the rear of Numbers 2 and 3 are not considered of special interest.
