Description

Kirby House is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of Kirkby Hill Road. It is constructed of finely-coursed sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three symmetrical bays. The central entrance consists of a Victorian six-panel door set within a wood pilastered and corniced surround, complete with an overlight. The windows are predominantly 16-pane sashes, with a 12-pane window located above the door. The house also has corniced end chimneys.
