Description
Dernel The Cottages is a house located at the north end of an irregular row, likely built in the late 18th century with some alterations. It is constructed from coursed pecked sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, a ridge, and a chimney stack. The front has a 20th-century panelled door that is partly glazed, situated beneath a pent slated hood supported by brackets. The ground floor has 20th-century casement windows with three lights, and those on the ground floor include transoms. The name "Dernel" is carved into a stone on the right side of the first floor. The chimney at the right end has a cornice. This building is included for its group value.
