Description

Nos 3 and 4 Castlegate are 18th century or early 19th century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed from coursed stone with a pantile roof featuring stone coped gable ends and kneelers. The buildings have three brick chimney stacks. On the upper floor, there are two windows that are sliding sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor features similar windows, but they have flat lintels with incised keystones. The door of No 3 is made up of four panels and has a stone lintel with an incised keystone. The door to No 4 shares a joint lintel with the window above it, also featuring incised keystones. No 3 has a rendered plinth. Nos 1 to 5 Castlegate form a group.
