Description
Two cottages, dating from the early 19th century, are located on the north side of Sykes Bank, near Tolerton. They are built of red-brown brick and have swept pantile roofs with end stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and one bay wide. Gaythorpe cottage features a 20th-century half-glazed door within a doorcase and a replica bow window on the left. Wandern cottage has an original door to the right and retains its original bow window. The upper floor windows are small-paned Yorkshire sashes with segmented arches. The buildings are included in the listing partly for their group value.
