Description
The service building of Alne Hall, located to the north, is a former staff quarters and coach house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of reddish-brown local brick and features a hipped pantile roof for the staff quarters, while the coach house has a Welsh slate roof. The staff quarters are two storeys high and consist of three bays, with three full-height recessed arches. There is a central door with an oblong fanlight set within an architrave. The windows are later 19th-century segment arched sashes with glazing bars, placed in flush wood architraves. To the east, the coach house range is one and a half storeys tall and has two bays, with a coach entrance arch to the right and segment arched windows with glazing bars. The eaves are stepped. A later extension is noted but is not of interest. This building is included partly for its group value with Alne Hall.
