Description

WILLERBY MAIN STREET TA 07 NW (south side) Staxton 7/85 Range of buildings attached to Hertford Cottage GV II Farmbuildings, part now used as shop. Late C18 with earlier origins, and C20 alteration. Whitewashed chalkstone on sandstone plinth, with whitewashed brick arches and pantile roof. Corner site. 1-storey range, with irregular quoins at left end. Elliptical arch towards right end with double board doors. At right end inserted openings, with C20 fixed windows, to right of part-glazed door both with brick arches. Towards left end, reset datestone inscribed: 1719 WC Raised eaves band. Roof hipped at right. No openings in right return. Included for group value. Hertford Cottage not of special interest.
