Garden Cottage And Walls

Garden Cottage and Walls is a cottage, garden wall, and flanking walls built around 1880. It is constructed from coursed rusticated sandstone with ashlar dressings. The cottage features a graduated stone slate roof with stepped raised verges and ashlar coping, along with end stacks. It is one storey and has an attic, with three bays. The central entrance has a board door set in a shouldered, broadly chamfered doorway, flanked by two-light casement windows that have chamfered mullions. There is a chamfered stringcourse beneath the eaves. The central projecting gable has shouldered coping and a recessed panel with a shield. The garden wall is approximately 2 feet 6 inches high, topped with coping and gateposts. The flanking walls curve around the cottage garden and are approximately 13 feet high, also featuring coping and one corner post to the left.
