Description
The Cornmill is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It likely dates from the mid-17th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed from rendered limestone rubble, with a brick structure and a pantile roof featuring brick stacks. It has a two-cell cross-passage plan and a brick wing at the rear. The building stands two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. There is a 20th-century half-glazed door, and throughout the building, there are Yorkshire sash windows with large projecting lintels. The roof is swept, with stacks at both ends. Inside, the front room retains two original cross beams, one of which has mortices for a screen.
