Description
The Co-op and Thomas' Bakery are two houses that have been converted into shops. They date from the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and feature herringbone tooled quoins, a pantile roof, and brick stacks. They stand three storeys tall and have four first floor windows. The shop front is from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars, stone sills, and wedge lintels, although the second window is blocked. The attic features 6-pane sashes, with the second window also blocked. The buildings have a coved eaves course, gable coping, and a shaped kneeler on the right side, along with end stacks and a ridge stack. These buildings are included partly for their group value.
