Description
Nos 9, 10, and 11 Market Place are three terraced houses, with Nos 9 and 10 currently functioning as shops. They were built in the early to mid 19th century and feature hammered coursed sandstone with dressed sandstone quoins, a pantile roof, and brick stacks. The buildings are two storeys high and have five first floor windows.
No 9 has a 20th-century glazed door with a stone lintel on the left, while No 10 also has a 20th-century glazed door. No 11 features a 20th-century half-glazed door with wedge lintels on the right. Nos 9 and 10 are fitted with 20th-century bow windows, whereas No 11 has a three-light Yorkshire sash window with a wedge lintel. On the first floor, No 9 has a six-pane sash window, No 10 has three casements with wedge lintels, and No 11 has a 20th-century casement window. The buildings have gable coping and shaped kneelers, with ridge stacks located at the party walls. They are included for group value considerations.
