Description
The railings to the front gardens of Rose Cottage, Ivy Cottage, and Church View are early 19th century features located on the south side of Kirby Hill Village Green. They consist of low coursed rubble walls topped with wrought-iron railings. In front of Rose Cottage, the wall is designed in a quadrant plan, while Ivy Cottage and Church View have separate walls, with the layout interrupted by access to a carriage arch. The walls are finished with segmental ashlar coping. The railings are plain, featuring pointed tops on the bars and cast-iron urn finials on the standards. These railings are included for their group value.
