Description

The railings in front of Rowan House and The Old Dame School date from the early 19th century. They consist of wrought-iron railings, ashlar bollards, and a rubble wall. The low rubble wall features slab coping and has bollards at intervals, some of which have been remade in rendered brick and topped with ogee caps. The railings are designed with spiked bars. These features are included for their group value.
