Description

The barn at Stansfield Farmhouse was built in 1789, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of squared rubble and has a stone slate roof. The barn is positioned at right angles to the farmhouse, which it is now attached to. On the gable end, there is a pitching door above a tall opening, with a finely carved lintel that reads "Built by WB 1789".
