Description

KIPLIN B6271 SE 29 NE (North Side) 4/13 Outbuilding approximately 500 metres to north of Kiplin Hall GV II Outbuilding. Mid to late C18. Coursed rubblestones of pantile roof. Palladian style. Square in plan, front and rear halves separated by spine wall. 2 storeys, 1 bay. Gabled front: central recessed arched panel with doorway under deep lintel with lunette opening above. Stone band with ashlar coped pediment. Interior: stone steps lead to upper floor and a large stone vat with drainage hole in its base. In floor of rear half is a circular hole, probably a well. Possibly a grape press.
