Description

This boundary stone, dated 1769, is made of ashlar sandstone and has a square section. It stands approximately 300mm high, although the top is damaged. The front face does not have any inscription. The left side is inscribed with "Ellerton," while the right side reads "KIPLIN 1769." This stone marks the boundary with the civil parish of Ellerton-on-Swale, located in Richmondshire, but it is situated on the Kiplin side of the stream that serves as the parish boundary.
