Description
Corner Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with later additions and alterations, including a rebuilding of the first floor in the early 19th century and a late 19th-century range added to the rear. The building features pinkish-orange brick on the ground floor and pinkish-brown brick on the first floor, topped with a pantile roof. It has a central hallway plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed four-panel door with a decorative overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase that has a frieze and a dentil hood. The windows are 6-pane casements throughout, featuring ashlar sills and set under elliptical arches. There is a two-course band at the first floor and a dentil eaves band. The roof is swept with brick coping, and there are end stacks. The gable ends show tumbled-in brickwork. Inside, some ceilings have exposed beams, and there is a bressumer beam in the right-hand room.
