Description
The property at 46 and 48 Town Street, Old Malton, is a late 18th-century house that has been altered and divided into two dwellings. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a brick plinth, and has painted stone and brick steps leading to the front. The roof is covered with pantiles, and the house has brick end stacks. The building follows a cross-passage plan and presents a two-window facade over two low storeys. A central board door, with a divided overlight, provides access to separate entrances for each dwelling. The ground floor windows are 20th-century two-light casements with flat arches made of voussoirs, while the first-floor windows have timber lintels.
