Description

This is a house located at 40 Town Street in Old Malton, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features coursed squared sandstone on a brick plinth and has a central brick chimney stack on a pantile roof. It is two stories high with a two-window front. To the right, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door, alongside two large-pane sliding sash windows with stone sills. The first floor has similar windows, which are topped with painted timber lintels. The ground-floor openings are designed with cambered arches made of voussoirs.
