Description
Oak Grange is a farmhouse built around 1700 and later altered around 1900. It features pebble-dashed brick with sandstone ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has two bays, with a two-storey rear range on the left and a two-storey outshut on the right. It has a plinth and chamfered rusticated quoins. There are moulded string courses at the first and second floors. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set within a 1700 ashlar door-case, which includes an architrave with imposts and a tall keystone, surrounded by scrolled bases and baluster-like jambs topped with scrolled embellishments featuring acanthus leaves. The cornice above has a broken segmental pediment. The ground and first-floor windows are large two-light chamfered mullion windows with sash frames, while the second floor has four-pane sashes. The roof is hipped, with diagonally-placed kneelers at the corners. There is a brick eaves stack on the left and a central corniced stack with a brick addition. This building was formerly known as the Black Bull Inn.
