Description
This is an early 19th-century corner block of houses, with shop fronts added in the later 19th or early 20th century. The building is located on the Market Place, and includes the property at number 10 Castlegate. It is constructed of brown brick, with a stucco band marking the second floor and a Welsh slate roof. The building rises three storeys and has a total of four bays. Shops at numbers 2-4 Market Place and 10 Castlegate feature shop windows with slender columns and projecting wooden fascias with wooden pilasters. Number 6 Market Place has a later square bay shop front to the first floor. Number 6 Market Place also has a canted bay with sash windows containing glazing bars. All the remaining windows are 16-pane sashes, with splayed stucco heads and cills.
