Description

The Administration Block of Raikeswood Hospital was built between 1830 and 1840 as a workhouse. It is constructed of stone in a classical style with a symmetrical front. The central portion is three storeys high and features a hipped slate roof, with seven bays of twelve-paned sash windows. The middle three bays are pedimented and include a doorway with a round-arched entrance, flanked by round-arched windows. There are two two-storeyed wings on either side, each with seven windows, and the end windows are located in gabled pavilions. The building also has a basement.
