Description
The Roman Catholic Primary School and Schoolhouse, dated 1854, is located at the entrance to the drive leading to the church and convent. This two-storey stone building features a steep slate roof with a bell turret positioned diagonally on the ridge. The ground floor includes a central gabled porch with a pointed arched doorway, flanked by four three-light windows that have pointed cusped heads, rectangular labels, and head-stops. Above these windows is a row of quatrefoils. The upper floor displays cusped windows arranged in a pattern of three, two, three, two, and three lights, with the two-light windows set in gabled half-dormers. The building is supported by buttresses. Attached to the main structure, the schoolhouse is also two storeys high, featuring a plain doorway with a cornice and fanlight, one window on the ground floor, and two windows on the upper floor.
