Description
The Royal Oak Public House is an early 19th-century building constructed of ashlar. It features two storeys, an attic, and a basement. The gabled front facing Raikes Road has a central door, which is approached by steps that bridge an area. This door has a round head and is flanked by engaged Tuscan columns that support an entablature. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows, while the upper floor has three sash windows and a round-headed window in the gable. The Water Street front includes three windows on the ground floor and a door to the left of the central window, also approached by steps over an area. The entablature above this door is supported by pilasters. Additionally, there is a stone rubble stable and coach-house that adjoin the Raikes Road front.
