Description

Port Bredy Hospital, built in 1836 or shortly thereafter, was originally a workhouse. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has three storeys. It features a typical cruciform workhouse layout. The front of the building has nine ranges of windows, with sash windows on the ground floor and casements above. The central section projects forward twice and is topped with an eaves cornice and a blocking course. There is a string course at the first-floor level.
