This is a 19th-century boundary stone made of sandstone, roughly rectangular in shape. The left side of the stone is inscribed with the word 'PAYTHORNE', while the right side features the inscription 'HALTON WEST'. Part of this boundary stone is located in Halton West civil parish, Craven district, North Yorkshire.
