Description

Frenchgate House is a late 18th or early 19th century building located on the east side of Frenchgate. It is constructed with cement rendering and roughcast, featuring stone quoins and a plinth. The roof is steeply slated with two flat dormers. The front elevation has three windows, with the central bay projecting forward, containing a single window. The windows are set within moulded stone frames, and a moulded stone cornice with a central pediment runs along the top. The doorway is flanked by plain pilasters and a cornice, with a batted and shouldered surround. A 19th-century four-panel, half-glazed door is present. Frenchgate House is part of a group with numbers 20 to 24 (even).
