Description
Nos 41A and 41B on Frenchgate are mid-18th century buildings. They are roughcast and colourwashed, with an ashlar plinth and chamfered rusticated quoins. The buildings rise three storeys and feature three windows with moulded cases that have no glazing bars. There is a stone eaves cornice, and the first-floor window on the right has been replaced with French windows leading to a balcony. The ground floor includes a modern large segmental entrance and a flat-arched entrance with modern doors set back. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 27 (odd) and Nos 31 to 43 (odd).
