Description
The building at 31 and 33 Frenchgate is a mid-18th century property. It is two storeys high and has a cement-rendered exterior. The roof is covered with stone slates. A plinth is visible on the left-hand side. The building originally had three windows with plain stone frames, rusticated keystones, and hung sashes without glazing bars. One window remains on the ground floor, alongside a modern shop front with its own surround. The central door consists of six fielded panels within a similar frame, also with a modern surround, and is accessed by four steps. The properties at numbers 1 to 27 (odd) and 31 to 43 (odd) form a group.
