Description
No. 43 Frenchgate is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall. The exterior is roughcast over rubble and features five windows that are irregularly spaced. The entrance has a plain six-panel door with a two-light fanlight above, accessed by steps with a handrail. There is an ashlar plinth at the base. The gabled elevation has three windows, while the rear has five windows set in stone surrounds with glazing bars. The ground floor includes four windows and two doorways, with the left doorway also in a stone surround. At the time of the survey, the building was noted to be in poor condition. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 27 (odd) and Nos. 31 to 43 (odd).
