Description

No. 55 on Frenchgate is a mid-18th century building made of red brick with stone quoins. It stands three storeys tall and features three windows, each with gauged brick arches and moulded frames, and no glazing bars. The building has an ashlar plinth and a six-panel door set in plain reveals with a plain stone frame on the right side. Above the door is a two-light rectangular fanlight. The roof is covered with stone slates. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 47 to 55 (odd).
