Description

24 Frenchgate is a building from the mid-18th century or earlier. It has two storeys and is finished in painted roughcast. The slate roof features two sloped dormers. There are two windows with 19th-century glazing. The central panelled door is accessed by two steps and is topped with a small hood supported by iron brackets. This building is reputed to have been the home of John Willance in 1606. It is part of a group with Frenchgate House Nos 20 to 24 (even).
