Description
The Ice House, located approximately 60 metres north of the Stable Block at Wiganthorpe Hall, is a structure likely built in the early 19th century. It features a passage made of gritstone rubble with a brick interior. The design includes an L-shaped corridor that leads into the side of a hill, ending in a chamber that has a diameter of 16 feet. The corridor is covered by a barrel vault, while the sunken chamber has a domed roof. Wiganthorpe Hall itself has been demolished.
