Description
This is a medieval coffin located approximately 1 metre east of the porch of the Church of St Agatha in Gilling West. It is made of sandstone and has been hewn out of solid stone. The coffin is now cracked across the centre, and part of the head end is missing. The body cavity of the coffin tapers evenly from the head to the feet.
