Description

The Village Cross, likely dating from the 15th century, is located on the north side of Front Street in Aldborough, Boroughbridge. It features four stone angle shafts with spurs between them and moulded capitals. The upper parts of the cross have been damaged and reassembled, though the accuracy of this restoration is questionable. The shafts extend to another set of foliate capitals, and the entire structure is topped with a damaged crocket capital. The Village Cross is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
