Description

The barn and stable attached to the south of South End Farm Cottages dates from the 17th century and was partly floored in the 19th century. It features a cruck frame and is constructed of coursed roughly-squared sandstone with a pantile roof. The building has three bays of raised crucks and a stone partition wall that separates the stable from the barn at the left end. There are lean-to cowsheds at the rear. The front has three plank doors with plain lintels and one pitching window. At the rear, there is a cart entrance with a timber lintel, and a pitching door is located in the end gable wall. The gable is coped with kneelers and supports a steeply-pitched roof.
