Description
Cherry Tree Cottage is a cottage that consists of two builds. The right side is an early 19th-century range, while the left side is a one-and-a-half-storey range believed to date back to 1690. The cottage is constructed from coursed hammer-dressed sandstone and features a pantile roof with a rebuilt brick chimney stack.
The structure includes a two-storey single bay section and a one-and-a-half-storey four-bay section with a through passage. A 20th-century glazed door is located under a herring-bone tooled lintel. To the left of the one-and-a-half-storey range, there are two square fixed-light windows with glazing bars flanking a boarded door, which is situated beneath an inserted 20th-century square window. The two-storey range features 16-pane sash windows with keyed lintels. The gable walls are coped and include moulded kneelers, with a single stack on the two-storey section. It is noted that the third bay of the one-and-a-half-storey range belongs to South End Farm.
