Description
The Three Jolly Sailors is a farmhouse that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed from coursed, dressed sandstone and features a slate roof with brick stacks. Originally, it had a three-cell, cross-passage layout.
The front of the building is two stories high and has four bays. There is a boarded door located to the left of the center, which is accessed by stone steps. To the right of the door, there is one sash window and one tripartite sash window, both with keyed lintels. Next to the door is an enlarged fire window, and to the left of the door is a 20th-century casement window, all featuring plain lintels. The upper windows are horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars. The gables are coped and have moulded kneelers. There is one stack at the end and another to the left of the center. An attached outbuilding and barn to the right are not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
