Description

These are a pair of mid-19th century cottages located on the south side of Westgate. They are constructed of coursed stone with a pantile roof and two brick stacks. The cottages have three windows, each with a stone lintel and no glazing bars. The ground floor features three windows. A modern door with a rectangular fanlight is present at No. 15, and a similar modern door with a stone lintel and rectangular fanlight is at No. 16.

Nos 15 and 16 form part of a group, which includes Nos 1 to 22 (consecutive), 23A and 23B, Nos 24 to 29 (consecutive), storage premises to the left of Nos 28 and 29, Nos 30 to 37 (consecutive), 37A, and Nos 38 to 69 (consecutive). Other properties within this group of local interest include Nos 11 and 12, Nos 17 to 19 (consecutive), the storage premises to the left of Nos 28 and 29, Nos 37 and 37A, Nos 38 and 39, No. 41, and Nos 65 to 69. Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive) also form a group with the Wesleyan Day School.
