Description

This is a pair of houses dating back to the 18th century. They are built of coursed stone, although No. 14 has a rough rendered front. The roofs are covered in pantiles, with four brick stacks and stone coped gable ends featuring kneelers. A moulded stone eaves cornice runs along the top. There are six windows in total, each with stone lintels and keystones; the central windows on both houses are blocked. No. 14 has hung sash windows with glazing bars, while No. 13 has modern glazing. Each house has two windows on the ground floor. The doorway to No. 13 has a stone lintel with a keystone and a two-light rectangular fanlight above a modern door. No. 14 has a four-panel door with a cemented lintel. These houses form part of a group of buildings, alongside Nos. 1-4, 11-12, 17-19, storage premises, 24-29, 30-37, 37A, 38-69, and a Wesleyan Day School, which are considered to be of local interest.
