Description
This boundary stone, located approximately 600 metres north-west of Newby Moor Bridge, likely dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of painted millstone grit and stands about 1 metre high and 1 metre wide. The front features two horizontal scored lines with the inscriptions 'INGLETON' and 'CLAPHAM', separated by a vertical V-shaped groove. The rear of the stone is plain. This stone has been listed previously under the parish of Clapham-Cum-Newby.
