Description

Cross Gates Farmhouse is a farmhouse, probably built in the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble and has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and appears to have two rooms at the front, with the entrance located at the right-hand end. A string course runs around the building, supporting a small lean-to porch that features a plain doorway, which is said to conceal a chamfered inner doorway. The farmhouse has double chamfered mullion windows, with three lights and four lights on the ground floor, and two lights and four lights on the upper floor. There are also traces of a round-headed single light window between the larger windows, opposite the only chimney, which is located on the ridge.
