BANK NEWTON Cross Gates Farmhouse

II Farmhouse, probably later C17. Rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys. Apparently of two rooms at the front with entry to right hand end. String course carries round small lean-to porch with plain doorway (but said to conceal chamfered inner doorway). Double chamfered mullion windows to each floor, of three lights and four lights to ground floor, and of two and four lights over with traces of a round headed single light between, opposite the only chimney which is on the ridge.
