Description

This is a two-bay house dated 1785, located on the north side of Church Row in Melsonby. It is roughcast with a pantile roof, featuring stone slates along the eaves. The house has a two-story, L-shaped plan, with a contemporary wing to the rear-right. A plinth runs along the base. The central entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight containing small, differently sized panes of glass. The door surround is made of ashlar with splayed bases, and a lintel displaying an oval plaque with the date 1785. A small timber canopy covers the door. Nine-pane sash windows, with unevenly hung sashes, are set within ashlar surrounds. Chimneys, one of rubble and one of brick, are located at the ends of the house.
