Description

SESSAY - SE 47 SE 7/29 Throstle Nest - II Farmhouse. Early C19 with mid C19 addition and later alterations. Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish garden wall bond; pantile roof. Garden front: 2 storeys, 2 bays with added bay set back on right. Central 4-panel door with overlight flanked by 16-pane sashes on each floor all with flat brick arches and stone sills to windows; dentilled eaves; end stacks. Added bay has pent-roofed ground-floor addition with 8-pane side-sliding sash; C20 first floor window under segmental brick arch; central stack set forward of ridge. Outbuildings attached to left not of special interest. Rear: right-hand part has blocked doorway with window to left, both under flat brick arches, and another doorway to right; inserted window between doorways and 2 to first floor; dentilled eaves. Straight joint between this and left bay which has inserted doorway on left of segmental-arched window to each floor. Left return: in gable apex a small 12-pane side-sliding sash.
