Description
Withernwick Hall is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with a range extending to the right. It stands two storeys high and has five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. The central entrance consists of a six-fielded-panel door with a fanlight, framed by a pilastered surround and topped with an open pediment. The windows are 12-pane sashes in their original openings, complete with stone sills and set under flat arches made of painted, rubbed brick. The exterior is finished with a modillion cornice, brick copings, and end stacks, while the gable ends display tumbled-in brickwork. There are two casement windows on the right gable and one on the left. The range to the right has late 20th-century openings that are not of special interest. Inside, there are three chimney-pieces and alcoves that likely date from the mid-19th century and reflect a Georgian Revival style. Some windows have shutters, and there is also a six-fielded panel door.
