The Cottage The Cottage Shop With Attached Barn

The Cottage and The Cottage Shop with attached barn is a house and shop dating from 1698 and later. It is built of rubble with a stone slate roof. The building likely has a three-unit plan, with the left-hand unit later becoming a separate cottage. Each floor features three-light recessed square mullion windows. The ground floor is unified by a continuous hoodmould that rises over a cable-moulded plaque inscribed with "A A A" and the date. There are two double chamfered stone mullion windows of four lights, although the left window is missing two mullions. A segmental-headed doorway is present. On the first floor, there are double chamfered stone mullion windows with two, two, and three lights, with only the last window retaining its mullions. The shadow of a round-headed single light can be seen further left. The building has three stacks. The attached barn is simple, featuring a straight-headed cart entry and a chamfered doorway in the gable end.
