Description
The Church of St Peter is a parish church featuring a west tower dating from the 12th century, with the nave and chancel likely from the 16th century. The south aisle appears to have been rebuilt, and a porch was added in 1769. The tower is constructed from rubble, while the rest of the church is made from dressed stone, topped with a slate roof. The tower is quite plain, characterized by low battlements, small round-headed windows near the ground, and small two-light belfry openings. The other windows are straight-headed, each with three round-arched lights, except for the east window, which is arched and also has three lights. The masonry of the south aisle is more regular compared to the other walls, as is the Classical porch. The porch features a pediment interrupted by a round-arched doorway with impost blocks and a triple keystone. Inside, the porch protects an unmoulded pointed-arched inner doorway that has a Gothick door.
