Description

Box Tree Cottage is a farmhouse, originally dating back to the 17th century, but substantially refaced in the 18th century. It is constructed of squared rubble with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a long, irregular frontage with four bays on each floor. The ground floor features a doorway with an architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice. It also has one tall single-light window and three two-light recessed square mullion windows, all with sash windows lacking glazing bars. The first floor has four sashed windows with architraves, similarly without glazing bars. A rear wing includes a Tudor-arched doorway and a single two-light double chamfered stone mullion window on the upper storey. The property has three chimney stacks. The interior remains uninspected.
