GILLING WITH HARTFORTH SEDBURY PARK NZ 20 NW AND SEDBURY 7/146 The Lodge (formerly listed as 4.2.69 Sedbury Hall Lodge) and front railings

Lodge and front railings. Late C18 - early C19. Possibly by John Foss of Richmond. Ashlar sandstone, stone slate roof; wrought-iron railings. Lodge: 2 storeys, 3 bays. plinth. Central bay projects slightly, and has 6-panel door below fanlight in chamfered rusticated quoined round-arched surround with vermiculated keystone. In first and third bays, a sash window with glazing bars in round-arched recessed panel on the ground floor. First-floor band and cornice in one. First floor blind, but with pediment in central bay. Moulded gutter box. Hipped roof. Central stack. Left return: 1 sash window with glazing bars on ground floor; two 9-pane unequally-hung sash windows on first floor. Right return: on ground floor, 2 sash windows with glazing bars in round-arched recessed panels; first- floor band and cornice; two 9-pane unequally-hung sash windows on first floor. In front of house, railings have plain bars with small knob finials and matching central gate, and turned baluster standards at corner and flanking gate.
