Description

This is a chest tomb dating from around 1768, located approximately 5 metres east of the east end of the Church of St Mary in Hornby. It commemorates Isabel Swale of Hornby Park, who died in 1768. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features sides adorned with arcaded panels of console section, which are separated by traceried pilasters, along with traceried end pilasters. The well-cut inscription is found on the moulded lid.
